After the endless nagging of a pesty little sister, we have finally joined the band wagon. As I keep telling Jess, I don't know if we ever do anything worth blogging about, but we'll try. Jess says blogging is the greatest, so I hope she will make a believer out of me.
We had a party WEEK! It was crazy, starting on Friday all the way through to the next Friday so I guess it's a good time to start blogging, because this week we actually did do some fun things.
Friday Maddie and I got to go to....drum roll...the HANNAH MONTANA concert! It was absolutely insane but so much fun! We were on the very last row of the Delta Center (or what ever it is called now). But Maddie was as much of a teenie-bopper as she could be. She stood on her chair most of the concert screaming and singing along! At one point she asked if she could put her arms down because they were so tired! It was a fun night, and I'm glad she got to go!
Saturday we went to our ward Fall Carnival (we couldn't have a Halloween party because our Stake President doesn't like Halloween). It was a fun night, we had a Chili cook-off and a Bread baking contest. My rolls won the 'Most Like Grandma's' award (I think it was only because I named them Grandma's Rolls). The primary put on a carnival with Bobbing For Apples and then the kids got to dip the apples in Carmel sauce. I've decided we are all a bit germ-a-phobes anymore. I made my kids do this game first, because the thought of every one's faces and mouths and snotty noses in the water was too much! They also had doughnut eating contests, and a fishing pond. The kids had fun.
Sunday night we had the annual Hurst Pumpkin Carve, at Heidi's house. It was a really small party this year without the Hammond's and Howell's, and my parents were out of town. Heidi made yummy "Crispy and Creamy" doughnuts that were a hit as usually!
Monday night was the annual Murray Halloween Party at Richard's dad's house. The kids got to wear the costumes, and this year they even got to dress up the parents. They thought it was great fun.
Tuesday night was our only free night, but we did go to Primary Children's Medical Center for Sam. He has been getting a lot of headaches lately, so we met with a neurologist. Thankfully he is fine. He was diagnosed with Migraines and we were given a prescription to help with the headaches. Thankfully he has gone two weeks without a headache! I think everyone should go to a Children's hospital every year, just for a reminder of how lucky you are to have healthy kids. Richard made the comment while we were sitting in the waiting room that even though we knew Sam was fine, he still didn't like being there.
Wednesday night was Halloween of course. We went to our friends house, the Bailey's, for dinner. They have a little girl named Mabel, and Sam calls her Mabe's the Babes. Sam's other good friend, Nate, and his family were there as well. We all went trick-or-treating together. The kids had a ton of fun, and they are getting much faster! I have to say, I like the new Daylight Savings being bumped to a week later. I liked that the kids started trick-or-treating at dusk instead of in the dark, it seemed a bit safer that way.
Thursday was Brinley's 2nd birthday! I can't believe it has already been 2 years. She is such a fun baby (well little girl now I guess). She has such a fun little personality and is always making us laugh. She loves Mads and Sam and is their parrot. For her birthday, we had chicken nuggets and fries (I did make them, I couldn't stand the thought of eating McDonald's chicken nuggets for dinner). Richard's side came over for cake and ice cream in the evening, and all I can say is Hooray we are moving! Hopefully this is the last party we will be squished into our family room!
Friday we had my side over to celebrate Brin's birthday. Brinley loves Curious George, who she calls BoBo. So we had a BoBo party, and I tried my best to make a Curious George cake. I don't think I captured the Curious George part, but I think it at least turned out to be an OK monkey!
Saturday we DIDN'T have a party....breathe! It was a fun week, but we did have to clean the house like crazy. The photographer came over to take pictures of the house so we can get it listed. The update on the house is this...We had the house listed with the agent who sold us our new house. He put it on the MLS for us basically. The pictures weren't great, and nobody called. So he introduced us to his brother-in-law who is a very successful Realtor with Signature Realty. So he is in the process of getting the house re-listed and up. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a quick sell. We have to close on the new house on Dec. 20. So if you know anyone who wants a cute house in a fun neighborhood, send them our way.
So that was our crazy week, and I guess this is my first official post. Sorry it is so long! I promise I'm not usually so wordy! Yes Richard, I know you disagree.

OH HAPPY DAY!!! It is about time you did this, I am so happy. You had a crazy week, and you said you have nothing to blog about!! Poor Sam, I had no clue about Primary's I don't like hearing about things like that on a blog! You can still call your sis even though we are in different states!
Welcome welcome!!! I am so excited you have hopped on the bogging bandwagon, I love to see pictures and hear the stories of my family I never get to see!
Your kids are getting so big and they are darling. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to see more!
Hooray!!! It is as if you live out of state for as often as we get to see or talk to you, so it is fun to know what is going on in your life. I can't believe Brinley is two, and your other kids are getting so big! I am so glad that Sam is ok, although migraines are no picnic. Preston has had them since he was about Sam's age too. The Halloween festivities look like lots of fun. I was so glad to see you carrying on the tradition of the pumpkin carve. I sure do remember how much fun ours was when you guys were all little!!
