Hair We Go

Sorry for the really lame title. I'm tired, what can I say.



Anyways, here is the update on the hair loss saga. The falling out has slowed, but it is continuing, gradually, the sides are now being affected. It is lightening up quite a bit too.



But as you can see here, regrowth has already started too, so that is good news. Hopefully the regrowth will be thick and fast and catch up with the "old" hair.



This is how B spent the first day of Sam's school. She changed close so many times I lost track, but most of the day was spent dancing around wearing whatever she could find whether dancing clothes, or princess clothes, a ribbon,or nothing at all, as was the case for lunch..I know, I decided to pick my battle, totally gross to let her eat bare naked, but she actually ate a great lunch of left over Chinese food and spaghettios. Yum!

The First Day of School

Well, we survived the start of a new school, and I think both kids are adjusting well. M is really liking her teachers (she has 2). The jury is still out on S's. He says she is mean because she makes him write his name correctly. He would write a capital M and she is making him write a lower case m. She has made him try a few times. How rude for her to want something done correctly. So we're working on him. Other than that, he loves going to school, and he loves eating lunch there.

The first day was scary for all of us. At M's meet and mingle, I had my arm around her, and I put my hand on her heart and it was going 900 miles a minute. I felt her pain. Mine was doing the same!

S got to go and meet his teacher individually on the first day of school. As we were leaving he said, I thought we were going to meet my teacher. I said, we did, that was her. He said, Oh I thought she would be young or something. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed he warms up to her! It could be a long year if not. Here are a few first day pictures

Please post a picture of your new 'do! We want to see the dark side of Jess. Were you channeling your inner Alice, or Bella, or whoever is dark in those crazy books?

We want to see it. You said it's down past your shoulders. I bet it hasn't been that long for what like 12 years or something! Come on. We want to see it.

Am I making a big deal out of nothing? I think probably (not). Jon, take a picture of your cute wife and post it. Your blogs are always fun! We want to see it!

Kid's Say the Cutest Things

Thursday, I was sitting on the couch with Karly and Brinley. Brin and I were having a nice little talk about when she grows up. She looked at me with such a sweet face and said, "When me and Karly grow up and get our big bums, then we will be moms, right?" SO SWEET!!! NOT!!!! My diet and exercise program begins Monday!

I told this to my mom, and she told me about something Sam said. One thing about Sam is he tells you how it is. While camping, my mom was getting ready, her hair was wet and she was just getting ready to put on her makeup. He looked at her and said, "Nana, you look really young in the morning.".....and the rest of the time she looks.....

Oh we love the honesty of children!

While on the topic of hair, Brin woke up with a nice bed head. I couldn't resist the picture....she obviously wasn't too happy about it.

Boondocks

Here are a few pictures from our Boondocks adventure. The little ones started out pooped!

It's a good thing she's so cute! Goofy hair! I'm just hoping she follows Maddie and Sam and gets a lovely head of thick-ish blonde hair. Brinley has yet to get the thick part, but it is starting to grow finally.

All four of our kids have started out with a decent amount of dark hair. I have had a lot of comments about all of Karly's hair. I keep telling people I'm enjoying it while it's here, because it will be falling out. I think everybody thought I was a little silly, so I'm going to document Karly's New Born baldness disease. I bathe her every other day, and while washing her hair on Monday, I noticed her hair felt and looked different. Sure enough! After her bath this is what she looked like...

Yes, she enjoys eating....look at those cheeks!

What To Do???

I'm feeling a little lost this afternoon. Half of my family is gone. I'm not sure what to do with myself. Maddie and Sam went camping with my parents and 2 of my sisters and their families. Jess of course is too far away for comfort. We just sent Richard off to Youth Conference with the Young Men. So, I'm hear with Brin and Karly. Last night I had a little panic attack about having everyone gone. But I think I'm ok with it now. I'm just hoping there isn't a major earthquake or something like that.

So what should I do with all my "free" time. Clean, iron, scrapbook? No, I'll just blog real quick. But now I realize/remember Richard took the camera with him. So sorry, updated pictures of Karly will have to wait.

Last night we took the kids to Boondocks for a fun family night together before everyone went their own way. What a stinkin' joke! I want some pointers on how to make the most of your time while at Boondocks. We bought the kids and Richard the "unlimited" pass, which let them do basically everything, except the batting cages (the one thing Sam really wanted to do). I bought the pass that I could golf unlimited and do 2 rides. We got there at about 6:45. By 9:00 we had done 3 things. Richard and I both got to do the Go Karts, but that is only because we made Sam stand in line by himself while I was in line too. Richard joined him and rode with him after I had my turn (Maddie rode with me). So, needless to say it was a complete waste of $80. The Go Kart line was seriously 45 minutes. We didn't have time for the arcades, to golf, to do the laser tag. We had to leave so Richard could finish up some prep work for Youth Conference. The kids were totally disappointed. Brinley was wanting to ride on the boats. Karly was starving. We were thinking it was a total waste of a night. The rides were fun, but were pretty disappointing after the horrendous wait. So please, tell us, how do you make Boondocks fun? Do you just buy one turn on each ride so you aren't out so much money? Is there a good time to go when it's not so busy? It didn't look very busy, the lines didn't appear to be long. They were just SLOW!

On a positive note, Richard talked to the manager to complain about the horrible lines, the waste of money, etc. He asked for a pass so we could come back and golf or something. The manager ended up giving us a full refund. So I guess the night didn't end up being so bad. Other than melting, we got to try a few things, and do it for free. We later remembered we still had the tokens, so we'll have to try it out again, and hit the arcades.

We did get some cute pictures while we were there, but they too are on the camera with Richard. I'll post them later.
