My Future Ace of Cakes

M loves to watch Food Network, especially Ace of Cakes and the Cake Challenge shows, so I shouldn't have been surprised to see this....

all of the kids were playing with Playdoh but long after they were done, she was still working. She told me she was going to make a duck shaped cake. She molded it out of black doh, and it looked really cute. I came back a little later, and she had rolled the yellow out really thin, and as she was placing it over the duck she said, "I learned from watching the cake shows that this is how to do it," she had the fondant technique down, she was rubbing it to get the air bubbles out, meticulously trimming it. She spent a long time rolling out all of the white bubbles. And here is the final project. A duck having a bath. The pink and green things are the shampoo and conditioner bottles.

Who knows, maybe she can be Duff's apprentice!

That is hillarious, and actually quite impressive! You should get her into a cake decorating class. What a cutie!

Wow Miss Maddie! Will you come decorated our next birthday cake? The only thing I could ever make from playdoh was snowmen! I love the duck.

I love watching that show too! So funny that she picked up on those things -- I think that would be great to be Duff's apprentice. Is she for hire for my kid's birthday cakes?
