No Problems Mon!

Last week, R and I got to go to Jamaica for the weekend!  It was a blast.  We left Wednesday night and landed in Jamaica at 10:30 am.  We then had a 2 hour bus ride to the resort.  Once we got checked in, we ate lunch and headed right to the beach.  We napped a little and read a little, played in the water, but mostly just relaxed!  It was wonderful.

Our view eating breakfast every morning
We went on this trip with a man R does business with.  Every year he takes all of his top agents on a trip.  R just rolled some business under him, so he took us too.  So on Friday, we participated in his Beach Olympics.  R's team won the games, thanks to his heroic actions for the last relay.  He can paddle a mean kayak!  I guess his scout training has come in handy for something.  The prize for winning....a bottle of Jamaican Rum--yea!  My dad was excited for it.

Friday night we went to the world famous "Rick's Cafe" (I hadn't heard of it either).  It is a club where you can cliff dive, have a lot of drinks, eat dinner, and watch the sunset.  They also have guys cliff diving for a show.  It was a nice night.  The sunset was beautiful.  This is how we party (yes we are so boring, and no, that wasn't R's beer).

Saturday, we went on a catamaran for some snorkeling, lunch, and the chance to experience the storm of the century on the ocean.  We were on the way back to the resort and got stuck in the worst storm I've ever experienced.  It was RAINING so hard, I had water pouring off my pant legs.  We were drenched!  Lightning struck the water right next to our boat, and arced out of the water.  I wasn't panicking until the boat motor sounded like it was ready to die, we couldn't see the shore line, and I happened to look up and the captain's eyes were the size of dinner plates.  He had lost his cool, calm, Jamaican attitude, he was freaked out, about then, R started asking me if I wanted my emergency plan.  But needless to say, we made it through, and we were very grateful to be on soggy, dry land!

The cove where we had lunch.
We were really bad at taking pictures of us this trip.  This is the only picture we have together, and I can't believe I'm posting it.  I had to prove we were actually there together, and having a good time.  This was right after snorkeling, on our way to lunch.
This is our hotel room/cottage.  It was so rainy/humid the day we left that my camera lens was foggy for about 2 hours.
This is the view from our door.  Nice view to start the day to.  I need that view at home!

Again, proof pictures that we were actually there and on the beach.  This was the last day, waiting for the shuttle bus.

This guy worked at the resort.  I never figured out what he did.  He was always dressed like the life guards, but I saw him making drinks at the bar, playing games with people, dancing at the pool competition, and on Sunday I think he stole this boat for a joy ride.  He was singing and dancing like CRAZY!  No problem Mon!

Thanks to Jen and Mom for making this trip possible, we couldn't have done it with out you!

What an amazing trip! I am so happy the two of you got to go away for a few days together. I don't envy the scary catamaran in a storm experience though! Other than that, it looks like you had a great time!
